Are you interested in learning Cebuano? Would you like to be able to communicate with Cebuanos here in the Philippines, using their local language? Learning Cebuano can be a very beneficial thing for you to do, especially if you have intentions of coming here to live, or to visit long-term.

One of the reasons I wanted to learn Cebuano upon arriving here, was due to the fact that Filipinos love, and I mean love to see foreigners speaking their languages. They truly get a smile from ear to ear, when they see us doing our best to communicate with them, in their language of Bisaya, Cebuano. Although we try, we typically butcher the language, at our early attempts anyway.

Anyway, the book we will offer is a fresh course in the making, starting from the very basics of Cebuano. It will teach you everything from simple words to sentence structure. It will continue on to reading and writing, and finally full conversation. You will learn basic greetings, how to ask questions, make general statements, etc., ultimately becoming quite conversational in the language, by learning Cebuano.

There will be some sample dialogs, along with 'extras' not normally seen in other books on learning Cebuano. You see, later on I was using a book from the LDS Church (the Mormon Missionaries who come here use the same one), in order to learn the language. While this book was a great starting point, I learned it did not have many other words, phrases, and expressions that one would use in everyday language here. That is, it had proper words in many cases. However, sometimes it would not provide the student with the correct word for a particular purpose. J.J. has been teaching me these differences, and we have been making notes and changes in the book, along the way. So, while the Mormon Church started a pretty good thing, we know we can improve on it quite a bit.

It will take some time to get this together and in print, but we are working on it as we can. We are considering adding an audio CD to the Cebuano Language Course, later. This will compliment the Language course, allowing the student to hear the actual pronunciations, helping them learn even quicker, thus mastering the language even faster. We are not taking orders as yet, due to it being too early. We do appreciate your patience in this.

In fact, we are not presently sure what the initial price will be for the complete course.
